Tadqiqotda hissiyotlarni ifodalovchi metaforik birliklar qanday konseptual modellar asosida shakllanishi, ularning umumiy va tilga xos jihatlari aniqlanadi. Nazariy asos sifatida konseptual metafora nazariyasi va lingvomadaniyatshunoslik yondashuvlaridan foydalanildi. Empirik material ingliz va o‘zbek tillaridagi badiiy, publitsistik hamda ommaviy yozma nutqdan olingan metaforik birliklardan tarkib topdi. Natijada hissiyot metaforalari fazoviy yo‘nalish, harorat va intensivlik, og‘irlik va bosim, ichki nazorat hamda ijtimoiy munosabat modellari asosida shakllanishi aniqlandi.
