Maqolada qissaning nozil bo‘lish sabablari, syujet tuzilishi va asosiy obrazlari mufassirlar — Imom Tabariy, Zamaxshariy, Qurtubiy, Ibn Kasir kabi allomalarning tafsirlari asosida tahlil etiladi. Shuningdek, Yusuf (a.s.) obrazining payg‘ambarlik maqomi, tush ta’biri ilmi va ijtimoiy-axloqiy saboqlari tafsiriy yondashuvlar orqali ochib beriladi.
