%X Pragmatic competence is an essential aspect of communicative competence that enables English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners to use language appropriately in social contexts. Despite its importance for effective communication, pragmatic competence often remains underdeveloped in EFL learners due to cultural differences, lack of explicit instruction, and limited exposure to real-life interactions. This article explores the role of pragmatic competence in EFL students’ communication, examines the challenges they face in acquiring pragmatic skills, and discusses pedagogical strategies to enhance pragmatic competence in EFL classrooms.
