N2  - This article reviews the literature to examine the relationship between body composition (fat, muscle, and water-free mass) and clinical and biochemical blood parameters in people with diabetes. It was found that increased body fat leads to increased levels of glucose, lipid profile, triglycerides, and inflammatory markers, while decreased muscle mass reduces insulin sensitivity. It was also noted that metabolic changes increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
