So‘nggi o‘n yillar davomida maltodekstrin, modifikatsiyalangan kraxmal, spirt, pivo, patoka yoki glyukoza, shuningdek glyukoza–fruktozali siroplar ishlab chiqarish sanoatida kraxmalni kislotali gidrolizlashdan ko‘ra, fermentativ gidrolizlash texnologiyasi keng qo‘llanilmoqda. Qishloq xo‘jalik mahsulotlarining asosiy qismini kraxmal tashkil etadi. Bunday substratlarga makkajo‘xori, bug‘doy, guruch, oq qand lavlagi, kartoshkalar kiradi va ular qishloq xo‘jaligi quruq massasining 40 % dan 75 % ni gidrolizlanuvchi kraxmal tashkil etadi.
