N2  - Each era of science sets new goals and objectives, offers solutions to problems and issues in the field. In our linguistic consciousness, the concept of wastewater is embodied in our everyday life, in industry, production, as a system consisting of wastewater, contaminated water of various compositions, and a complex of its purification and reuse processes. However, the process of wastewater formation, its composition, purification methods, methods used in the purification process, various mixtures, equipment and devices cannot be imagined. In our consciousness, the linguistic expression of wastewater is manifested as used, dirty, unfit for drinking and use water, as well as its purification and reuse for certain purposes. This article discusses the issue of dividing the terms wastewater and its purification system into thematic groups.
