So‘nggi davrda olibborilayotgan tadqiqotlarda amerika imo-ishora tilining fonologik, morfologik va sintaktik jihatlari keng doirada o‘rganilmoqda. Amerika imo-ishora tili grammatik hodisa sifatida qo‘l bilan ifodalanadigan va qo‘lsiz amalga oshiriladigan harakatlarning o‘zaro uyg‘unligi natijasida ifodalangan ma’nolar tizimi sifatida talqin qilinmoqda.
