Mahmud Kashgari, who lived in the 11th century, was born and raised in Central Asia, especially in the city of Kashgar. His most famous work, "Devonul Lug'atit Turk" is a dictionaryof the Turkish language, an important source not only for linguistics, but also for the study of the cultural and historical heritage of the Turkic peoples. Kashgari systematically analyzed the vocabulary, grammar, phonetics, and dialects of the Turkic language.
