%X This article analyzes the main economic characteristics of cotton fiber - fiber yield and quality indicators. The relationship between fiber yield and quality, their dependence on genetic and environmental factors, and the importance of taking these traits into account in the breeding process are highlighted. Based on the research results, the possibility of isolating high-quality and effective varieties has been determined. The article has practical significance for breeder scientists, agronomists, and specialists engaged in cotton cultivation
