By analyzing Brontë’s stylistic choices, the study demonstrates how similes enrich the reader’s understanding of Jane’s inner life, reflect the novel’s Romantic and Gothic influences, and convey powerful feminist undertones. The article also highlights the role of similes in enhancing the narrative’s emotional resonance and visual imagery, linking human experience with natural and supernatural elements. Ultimately, the study argues that Brontë’s nuanced use of similes is integral to the novel’s literary artistry and its enduring emotional impact.
