%X This article explores the syntactic structures employed by Charlotte Bronte in her novel Jane Eyre, analyzing how various sentence-level features contribute to the novel’s narrative depth and stylistic distinctiveness. Drawing on linguistic frameworks by Halliday, Leech and Short, and Simpson, the study highlights Bronte’s use of complex and compound sentences, parataxis, hypotaxis, ellipsis, inversion, and parallelism. These syntactic choices serve to reflect the protagonist’s psychological development, enhance thematic cohesion, and establish a rhythm that mirrors emotional intensity. Through close textual analysis, the article demonstrates that syntax in Jane Eyre is not merely a technical aspect of style, but a dynamic narrative tool that enriches the reader's engagement with character, theme, and voice.
