Жизнь и творческий путь великого поэта-мыслителя туркменского народа Махтумкули неразрывно связаны с хорезмским оазисом, так как в течение трёх лет он жил и обучался в медресе в Хиве. За короткий период пребывания в Хиве Махтумкули создал здес ряд своих творческих произведений, к числу которых можно отнести «Яранлар», «Нейләйин», «Шондадыр», «Ичинде», «Гозел Ширгази», «Бу замандыр», «Айрылса» и другие.
