TBLT, rooted in communicative language teaching and constructivist theories, emphasizes learning through meaningful, real-world tasks that promote implicit grammar acquisition and communicative competence. In contrast, traditional grammar-based instruction is founded on structuralist and behaviorist theories, focusing on explicit grammar teaching through systematic rule explanation and repetitive practice, thereby enhancing grammatical accuracy. The discussion explores the theoretical foundations, classroom dynamics, and learner engagement associated with each approach. It highlights that TBLT creates an interactive, learner-centered environment fostering fluency and motivation, while traditional methods offer a structured framework conducive to precise grammatical knowledge.
