Göstergebilim, göstergelerin yorumlanmasını ve işaretlerin anlamlandırılması süreçlerini sistemli bir şekilde araştıran bilim dalıdır. Farklı disiplinlerle birlikte çalışan göstergebilim (semiotik), mimarlık, resim, müzik, edebiyat, reklam, moda gibi iletişim aracı olarak kullanılan dizgelerin hepsinde araştırma alanına sahiptir. Makalede etkili bir iletişim aracı olan reklam dizgesi üzerinde durulmuştur.
