%X In the article the author studies the folkloristic backgrounds of the creation of the epos “The kindred” by a prominent Karakalpak poet S.Nurimbetov who is competently named as “A Father of the Karakalpak epos – creating”. The author detailly analyses the epos from the point of idea and composition and reveals its whole content, mastery in the use of folkloristic style in the depiction of characters’ passions, their humanistic features. The main idea of the epos, as the author points out, the glorifying of the concept friendship among peoples of the world.
